Community Game Drives: Fostering Appreciation for Conservation

As part of our effot to educate the local communities on the importance of conservaton of wildlife, we arrange tours of local national park for communites. The Conservation and Tourism Society (CATS) organizes game drives for local communities, especially those living in Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) zones, to foster a deep appreciation for conservation. These unique excursions offer a firsthand experience with wildlife, helping people understand the intricate beauty and ecological importance of their natural surroundings. By seeing animals in their habitats, participants gain insights into the interconnectedness of wildlife and ecosystems, reinforcing the idea that conserving nature benefits the entire community.

Through these immersive game drives, CATS encourages a sense of stewardship and responsibility toward wildlife. For many participants, this is their first close encounter with Zambia's rich biodiversity, and it often becomes a pivotal moment that transforms how they view conservation. The drives are not only educational but also build emotional connections to wildlife, empowering communities to become active partners in preserving their environment.

CATS believes that conservation starts with understanding and respect, which is why we invest in these impactful game drives. By connecting people to wildlife, we nurture a culture of conservation that resonates deeply within communities, inspiring action that leads to sustainable coexistence for generations to come
